I write ads, scripts,
notes, and checks
(exactly 12 checks. every year. all to my landlord)
I’m a big word guy, both literally and figuratively. At 6’5”, with a 7’ wingspan, I’m perfectly built to wrestle your hairiest creative challenges into submission.
I come to Seattle by way of Detroit. Thank you Instagram for making the PNW look like wonderland—it has yet to disappoint.
However, it’s left me with a garage full of equipment for hobbies I’ve tried twice. Hopefully, somewhere in that mess is a shoehorn to help me fit ‘award-winning’ into this bio.
My heart belongs to simple ideas and subversive thinking. I believe combining those two things together makes brands impossible to ignore.
If that sounds like something you’re interested in, give me shout.

Creative Beliefs
I was once asked in an interview what my “creative principles” were. My bullshit on-the-fly must’ve been good because I got the job—but I figured I should write down real ones just in case.
All for One. One for all.
As Steinbeck said, “the free exploring mind of the individual is the most valuable thing in the world” — I believe that to be true, but I also believe in the exponential value of exploring minds coming together.
“Yes, and…”
Don’t shut an idea down before the creative process even begins. The first rule of improv, ‘accept everyone’s contributions as reality’. This keeps the scene alive and from there, lets you explore its full potential — as wild (or mild) as it may be.
Follow your white rabbits
Let your curiosities take you where they may, dive down the rabbit hole and find every element of strangeness that romances you.
We can’t be good at something unless we’re willing to be bad at it
The scariest thing in the world is the blank page, so write down everything — even if you think it’s garbage. It’s better to put it on the page than in the trash. We can always refine it later.
Everything is storytelling
There’s a reason one of the oldest methods of communication is still one of the most effective — facts don’t stick, emotions do. People don’t remember what you said, they remember how you made them feel. Stop broadcasting, start engaging.
Never be afraid to step away
Get out of the weeds and smoke a little instead (if that’s your bag). Intelligence increases when we think less and probably why all our best ideas come to us in the middle of a lather, rinse, repeat.
